The double dapple coat is an unnatural colour for dachshunds. Dachshunds with this coat colour are prone to serious hearing and visual problems, and in the most severe cases, complete blindness and deafness. The Kennel Club (UK) and the Dachshund Breed Council (UK) have classed the colour as unacceptable because of the health risks associated with double dapple dachshunds. Help us raise awareness in double dapple and discourage the practice of irresponsible breeding!

Tofu, Cheesie, Marvel and Hershey all have varying degrees of hearing and visual impairments.

A double dapple is bred when both parents carry the dapple gene (which sometimes can be hidden and can only be identified with a test).

Breeding double dapple dachshunds are highly irresponsible and should be discouraged.
